go and open the door
Here is my third poem of the summer for you. Even though it's September, and summer is still with us, we turn our attention ahead to changes we anticipate -- cooler weather, back-to-school or -business, earlier evenings, changes in plants and migrating animals. September is a transition month in many ways.
Here is "The Door" by Miroslav Holub, a 20th century Czech clinical pathologist and immunologist. I think is very apt advice for managing changes of any kind. It appears to be simple at a first reading, but as you encounter endings and beginnings this month, planned or unplanned, let the sublime wisdom of this poem sink in as a comforting guide.
