It's clear beyond the fog
While out running errands this afternoon, I was impressed by the fog. I thought, "It's a darn good thing I know where I'm going and that it's daytime." The fog was so thick that you could not see more than 10 or so cars ahead. Traffic was moving at a fairly normal pace and we were on a stretch of the Post Road that had a lot of traffic lights -- and commerce. So, shoppers like me were patiently and carefully moving at a safe speed. No problem.
Fog is simply a cloud that is so close to us, it obscures the clear view. Somewhere up above us in the atmosphere, the sky is sunny, bright and clear while we, at the same time, are muddling about down below here in the fog.
The next time you are feeling down, discouraged or confused, think of yourself as being temporarily stuck in a fog. Slow down and proceed with caution. Use the guideposts that have always been there -- think traffic lights -- even on the sunny days, to help you proceed safely and with some confidence. Keep your destination in mind and know that clarity is still there, still ahead, in the future...it's just obscured at the moment.
Hold on. Be careful. You can get beyond this moment safely to clarity.
Peace and love to you.
