it's déjà vu all over again
What a great saying: it’s déjà vu all over again.
Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – again.
Today is Inauguration Day – again.
When events that happened before return, it’s easy to think that nothing has changed, but that is never true. Sure, you may eat the same foods on annual holidays. You may sing the same songs or recite the same pledges or read the same passages on certain days. Observing traditions is part of many special days.
But you are never the same. You bring a novel perspective to every moment.
Whatever this day, this particular day, means to you, remember this: Nothing is ever as it was before – because, as I wrote last week, you are always in a new now.
Make the most of it.
