Live with all your heart
I have just completed my annual week at camp. We did not have camp last summer, because 2020. That included all of us at camp -- kids, counselors, staff -- although our dedicated, able staff did provide some remote, online services. But this year, we all came back full-on -- with masks, rapid and PCR testing all week, social distancing, whatever it takes. Because we knew that our campers needed this week. And our amazing volunteers stepped up. Again. You are incredible and we could not do it without you.
It is a privilege to work with all these outstanding people -- volunteers, staff and campers, not to mention their very involved families. After nearly two decades of this work, every summer is still fresh, abundant with fun, madness and, overwhelmingly, love. It really makes me believe in miracles.
Please check out our parent nonprofit, The ELM Project, and Camp AmeriKids here. Our mission is to enhance the lives of underserved youth living with chronic illness by providing an enriching summer camp experience and the tools for a healthy, independent future. If you are moved to volunteer, donate or just want to know more about how you can help, I am very happy to tell you more. Just ask!
Peace and love to you in the week ahead.
